Library and Technology
The Library and Technology curriculum for Middle School continues to build on skills developed in Upper Elementary, especially as they relate to interpretation of material and evaluation of sources.
Emphasis on planning and process:
• Task definition
• Information seeking strategies
• Location and access
• Use of information
Computer literacy includes word processing, spreadsheets, database, graphics, academic programs, presentation, drawing, digital image manipulation, mixed media, and simulation games. All of these activities are integrated into all subject areas. Students also have the opportunity to work with other equipment such as scanners, as well as the Internet to gather data and communicate with other schools. Students will work with the IT/Media Coordinator with the goal of each graduating student having an electronic portfolio of their work archived.
